This is the full day on the water. We depart Lahaina Harbor aboard ‘Alihilani, our 64-foot Gold Coast performance sailing catamaran, and set sail across the ‘Au’au Channel toward the island of Lāna’i. As we clear the harbor and the trade winds fill the sails, you’ll understand why people call this one of the best sailing experiences in all of Hawaii.

The Lāna’i coastline is dramatic, with towering sea cliffs, hidden coves, and water so clear you can see the bottom from the deck. We snorkel along the coast where you’ll find vibrant coral reefs, tropical fish in abundance, sea turtles, and frequently, spinner dolphins. Our crew is in the water with you and happy to show you around.

On the way out, enjoy a light breakfast of fresh fruit, croissants, and banana muffins with your morning coffee. On the return sail, we serve a proper local lunch, including shoyu chicken, fried rice, and hummus with fresh vegetables, along with an open bar featuring local beer, white wine, and island cocktails.

During whale season, the ‘au’au channel is one of the most active whale watching corridors in Maui. Humpbacks, mothers with calves, and the occasional breach make the sail out and back an experience of its own.
