Early Morning Whale Watch from Lāhainā Harbor
Our Early Morning Whale Watch departs Lāhainā Harbor at 7:30 AM aboard ʻAlihilani, a 64-foot sailing catamaran. The two-hour cruise explores the ʻAuʻau Channel, part of the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary.
Why go early: Winds are usually lightest in the morning, so the water is calmer and spouts, tail slaps, and the occasional breach are easier to spot.
On board: ʻAlihilani has bow trampolines for lounging close to the water, shaded cabin seating, and a stable twin-hull design. Guests board directly from the dock at Lāhainā Harbor. We have no minimum age. There are two heads (restrooms) on board.
Season and sightings: Our whale watch season runs December through March. Wildlife is wild, so we can’t promise a sighting, but our crew knows these waters well.
