MAUI’S MOST ICONIC SNORKEL DESTINATION

Molokini Crater is one of those places that lives up to the hype. This crescent-shaped volcanic crater sits about three miles off the coast of Maui and is home to hundreds of species of tropical fish in some of the clearest water you’ll find anywhere in Hawai’i. It’s a protected marine preserve, which means the reef is healthy, the fish are abundant, and the visibility can reach 150 feet on a good day.

We depart from Mā’alaea Harbor aboard our 54-foot performance sailing catamaran Akialoa. As we cross Māʻalaea Bay, we hoist the sails and let the trade winds take over, no motor noise, just the sound of the wind and water. Continental breakfast is served on the way out so you arrive at Molokini well fed and ready to get in the water.

At the crater, you’ll have time to snorkel the protected inner waters where the fish are numerous and the coral is stunning. Our crew is in the water with you and happy to help you stay safe and point out interesting finds. After snorkeling, rinse off with our freshwater shower and settle in for a freshly prepared lunch on the return sail, with an open bar featuring local beer, white wine, and cocktails.
