December 2025 was an historic month for us. After two years away from our home harbor in Lāhainā we finally received the invitation to return. This invitation came with reticence and mixed feelings. Some believe strongly that it came too soon. Others believe that the time for energy to return to Lāhainā is right. We simply knew that any more time away from home could mean the end of us. We accepted the invitation, and have been setting sail from our home harbor for about a month now.

Our acceptance was not with gaiety, or a hubristic sense of a right to return. We felt the heaviness of the voices that cried, “too soon.” We still do. The County of Maui was scheduled to perform an opening ceremony, a blessing on this new chapter, and cancelled the morning of. Without a protocol to guide us, our team has taken on the responsibility of setting the tone in the harbor, with daily reverent rituals that start with just our team. We extend this sense of place to all of our guests. First, we ask everyone sailing with us to watch our video production outlining right conduct. Next, we escort all of our guests to and from their parking destination to the harbor. Finally, when we are out on the water, we are deeply present with the elements, the whales, and our skill of sailing.

When we are on the water, we are all about gratitude, and all about fun. We take the opportunity to do what we do best. We love to be immersed in nature, and for it to fill us with exuberance. This joy allows us a sense of presence, and a fullness, that we invite you to share in with us. This fullness, this awareness, and the sharing of it, is what we mean by aloha.

Setting sail with us from Lāhainā Harbor is a full experience. The awareness of what Lāhainā was and what it is now is admittedly heavy, and we can’t help but be heavily affected. The incomparable experience of sailing in the ‘au’au channel and swimming in Hawaiian waters is elating, and we can’t help but be overjoyed. This multitudiny is profoundly human. We are grateful to be a business defined by our humanity, and we are grateful to share this with you.
