Bailey is a Captain on Paragon
Where are you from?
Beaufort, South Carolina just a little south of Charleston.
Tell us how you got to Maui?
I grew up cruising on my family’s 46’ Morgan Ketch, and after college I started teaching sailing and crewing boats in the Florida Keys. My cousin had moved to Maui and told me I would love it here, so I took her up on the offer to come out. Her husband worked for a sailing company, and I was signed up as crew within the first two weeks on island.
What are your goals?
I’m working on getting as much experience as a Captain as I can. Sailing has always been a part of my life. I’m not sure exactly what the next moves are, but I know it will likely revolve around being on the water.
What do you love about sailing // working for Sail Maui?
I’m stoked to have the opportunity to introduce our guests to an authentic sailing experience. Paragon performs really well, and is honestly so much fun to drive.
What’s your passion?
Adventure & the outdoors! If I’m not sailing I’m probably surfing, and if I’m not surfing I’m probably off hiking or camping.
What do you want our guests to get out of their trip?
I’d like our passengers to have a really genuine experience. It’s awesome connecting with people on the boat and at the end of the trip you feel like friends.
